Raindrops on Roses and Whiskers on Kittens
Andrew has been talking about his favorites lately. Here are a couple:
Favorite Animal: lions, "because they don't bite people"
Favorite Colors: blue and purple, "because I don't like green." (Paul's favorite color is green)
He told me in the grocery store a few weeks ago that he wants to be a "real firefighter" someday.
He also wants a brother and a sister. He says sometimes that his stuffed animal mouse is his baby brother, but then he asks for a real baby brother. I tell him to tell Daddy that.
Other things that Andrew likes right now:
Fresh oranges (that's a new one)
Cooked broccoli (he'll actually admit it, sometimes)
Brown rice
Salmon
His new "winding up race car"
Painting
In other news, Andrew does this funny thing lately with his sentence syntax where he'll add something to the end of the sentence with "and" which actually belongs near the beginning of the sentence. (I don't know how to describe this in the proper English terms). For example, he'll say something like "I like to eat cupcakes, and you!", which means "You and I both like to eat cupcakes", not "I like to eat cupcakes and I like to eat you." This can make for some funny sentences.
Andrew also started added "es" at the end of words to make them plural, even when he only needs to add an "s". So blocks are now "block-es", etc. What's bad is that I catch myself almost talking like that myself, like when you hang out with someone from the south for a while and you start talking with a southern accent. Maybe I need to talk to adults more...
